After you encountered basketball, what is the thing that basketball taught you?

バスケットに出会い、バスケットに教えられたこととはなんでしょうか？

If I really think about it, I think I would need a lot of time to explain everything this game has taught me and given me.  It has given me passion and something to strive for with all my heart throughout my life, ever since I first picked up a basketball in the 1^st grade.  Not just the game itself, but I think the game of basketball as well as all the people that I have been fortunate enough to cross paths with because of the game have taught me many things.  My parents and my brother come first in terms of things that I’ve learned in my life.  But after that, basketball has really been everything to me throughout my life, so much so that even now I don’t think I fully grasp just how much it has taught me.

私が初めてバスケットボールを手にして以来ずっと、バスケは私に情熱と生涯を通じて心から励むものを与えてくれました。バスケそのものだけでなく、バスケをきっかけに幸運にも出会ったたくさんの人たちから、たくさんのことを学びました。私の人生で学んだことといえば、まず両親や兄のことを思いますが、その後、今までは生涯を通してバスケが私にとってのすべてであったので、バスケがいかにたくさんのことを私に教えてくれたかはいまだに完全に把握しているとは思えないのです。
